DISNEY CLIENT STORY
Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios, turned to Chip Foose as a graphic consultant for many of Radiator Springs residents
Seeking relevant automotive reference and creativity during the character development of the animated feature Cars, John Lasseter, Chief Creative Officer of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios, turned to Chip Foose as a graphic consultant for many of Radiator Springs residents, including Lightning McQueen and Ramone. While the sequel Cars 2 was in development, Redphin was successful in expanding the relationship to also include a line of original oil paintings and associated merchandise, custom Foose Cars inspired product and a design services agreement associated with the Cars Land expansion at Disney’s California Adventure.
With agreements in place with four separate divisions of Disney – Pixar, Chip Foose has gone from one of many consulting artists on the first Cars film to a key contributor of authentic car culture for entertainment’s premier institution. He remains the only artist allowed to interpret the Cars characters as “real” vehicles, removing the eyes and mouths and presenting them as actual automobiles. Redphin continues to leverage the relationship with multiple licensing projects and event appearances at both Disneyland Resort and Disney World.
